Privacy Policy
Last updated September 17, 2026. This policy explains what Chart & Deck collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it plain on purpose.
What we collect
- Your name and email, so we can reach you and deliver your reading.
- Your birth date, birth time, and birth place, used only to compute your chart.
- The question you ask and the notes from shaping it, so the reading is about you.
- For a synastry reading, the partner birth details you provide with their permission.
- Basic usage data and cookies for analytics, site performance, and (where enabled) session recordings. Details on each tool, what it collects, and how to opt out are in “Analytics and advertising tools” below.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
Analytics and advertising tools
We use a small number of third-party tools to see which pages get read, whether the site works well on the device a visitor is using, and whether our posts and ads reach the people they are meant for. None of these tools receive your name, email, or birth details, and none of them load on the private page where your reading is delivered.
Google Analytics (GA4). Counts visits, the pages read, roughly how long a visit lasts, and a general location (country or region, not a street address). We use it to see which content is working. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Meta Pixel (where enabled). Records that you visited and, if you sign up or buy a reading, that those things happened, so we can tell whether our Facebook and Instagram posts and ads are working. It does not receive the contents of your reading. You can manage how Meta uses this in your Facebook ad preferences.
Microsoft Clarity (where enabled). Records how visitors move through the site (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and how pages load) and builds heatmaps from that, so we can see where a page is confusing or slow. Clarity masks what you type into form fields, so your birth details and your question are not recorded. Clarity keeps session recordings for 30 days. Microsoft’s privacy statement explains how it handles this data.
If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, some of these tools may ask for your consent before they load.
How we use it
To create and deliver your reading, take payment, answer you, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make Chart & Deck work: Stripe (payments), our email provider (sending your reading and receipts), our database and hosting providers (storing your details securely), and an AI provider that helps draft parts of your reading from the data above. Each handles your data under its own terms and only to do its job for us.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while your account or order is active and as long as needed for our records and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us; service emails about a reading you ordered will still be sent. Age
Chart & Deck is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
